Did this really happen? Do I have amnesia or have I lost my head?

I keep having these re-occuring images of someone coming into our house and sneaking around. I can't see their face properly but I have this unbelievable sense of terror. I have these images...kinda like memories...while I am perfectly awake. They are at the back of my mind and Im rather convinced that this happened when i was young. But i can't really get the complete picture, so im not sure 100%. It is not a dream or anything, I think about it when i am awake.

what is going on?

I don't drink alcohol and I don't take drugs.Did this really happen? Do I have amnesia or have I lost my head?
You definately haven't lost your head. This experience, the flashbacks, the intense fear - this actualy happens to other people!

It sounds like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Where something happened long ago, you have blocked it out, and now for whatever reason you have accessed the memory. Check out the link below, see if it sounds like you. I'd definately seeing a psychologist, it can be not only difficult but terrifying to relieve this memory.

Hm... did anything happen in the past? Tell your doctor my freind:) see whats going on.. because we dont want that to be happening to you...Did this really happen? Do I have amnesia or have I lost my head?
I can't say for sure what this means specifically for you, but this type of dream usually expresses a deep sense of insecurity. I also had a dream of some one stalking me through my house. I would hide in the closet and at the last second the person would find me. When I told my husband how this was freaking me out, he reminded me that we have guns in the closet. I never had that dream again. The point is that you are feeling insecure about something and you need to do whatever it is to make you feel safe. If this is something stemming from childhood and you can't seem to shake it no matter what, you should try talking to some one professional to help you get through it.
I have had those too

I believe it is just the mind wandering and then you concentrate on it a little too much and the thoughts recur, causing a little bit of anxiety

When these thoughts occur ask yourself what evidence is there for this to be true.

There is none

Then dismiss it

If it gets overwhelming speak to a counsellor. I did.Did this really happen? Do I have amnesia or have I lost my head?
sometimes when i was a kid.i used to have those images too. I used to walk from bedroom to another looking for this mysterious thieve but never found him.

it's normal to be afraid of something but it's urgent to contorl your fear and never let it show severely.

as i said when we have too much time with nothing to do these images always come to surface.

so try to get your time occupied with something you like
