PLEASE HELP! Puppy disoriented, acting strange like he has amnesia or something, any ideas?

My 8 month old Shih Tzu started acting VERY strange yesterday after he was groomed for the first time. He is normally very playful and hyper and a little crazy! When I came home from work I found him sitting all alone, in the middle of a room and he wouldnt come when I called him, and he wont walk anywhere (he can walk, but its like he is too tired to do it) He is peeing and pooping, and he will eat and drink when we put the food in front of him. He will see the food ( where i has always been) and act like he didnt know it was there. He won't play with his best friend the cat, who he normally spends all day rolling all over the house with. And he is unusually calm and loving, he wont leave my side. I don't have any idea what could have caused this, the groomer didn't give him anything that I know of.( shes a wonderful lady and we have used her for like 5 years) Any thoughts would really be appriciated. I'm probably going to take him to the vet monday, but I just want to hear thoughts, PLEASE!PLEASE HELP! Puppy disoriented, acting strange like he has amnesia or something, any ideas?
Abnormally loving and won't leave your side? My puppy did that when she went to the groomers!! The vet told me it was nothing to worry about. It's just trying to suck up to you so it doesn't have to go there again!
Is it possible that some water was left in one or both of it's ears and had become infected? Just a guess, but a tightly wound tissue in the ear would tell. If the tissue comes out wet that's one thing, and if it's ears hurt that's another.

Good luck...PLEASE HELP! Puppy disoriented, acting strange like he has amnesia or something, any ideas?
The grooming probably stressed him out, 8 months old means he was way overdue for his first grooming. We like to start puppies at 8 weeks or as close as possible to that.
He may have had a seizure while you were out. If a dog has had a seizure they lose controls of their bowels and will be disorientated during and after they have had one. You should really take him to the vet and if he has another seizure, give him vanilla ice cream. My uncle had a dog that would act the same way, and unfortunately my uncle didn't take him to the vet even though he REALLY should have and the puppy died. My cousin's dog has seizures all the time (we suspect that is why she ended up at the pound) and she feeds her vanilla ice cream after one, she used to take her to the vet but only does if she had a really bad one now because there's no reason to the vet won't be able to do anything my cousin can't already do. Try changing your dogs food, he may be allergic to his food, try making your own dog food.PLEASE HELP! Puppy disoriented, acting strange like he has amnesia or something, any ideas?
Maybe he caught a tick on the way home...
